Production Planner (Entry Level)

Note: This is an Entry Level position with on the job training provided based on the candidate’s work experience.

SCOPE OF POSITION:

The Production Planner (Entry Level) is responsible for generating work orders through the company’s ERP system (ProShop) according to Engineering Instructions and the company’s AS9100D certified Quality Management System. The Production Planner (Entry Level) works closely with Production, Engineering (Programming), Quality, and Purchasing team members, while suggesting process improvements and collaborating with various members in a team environment. This position requires a preliminary understanding of manufacturing processes, exposure to manufacturing technologies, and offers significant growth potential.

JOB SPECIFICS: 

1. Generate Work Orders through the company’s ERP system (ProShop) according to Customer requirements and the company’s internal digital quoting system (Paperless Parts), including:

  • Raw material requirements and specifications;
  • Customer’s Quality Clauses;
  • Detailed sequence of operations, including Material Cutting & Preparation, CNC Machining, Deburr, Quality Inspection, Shipping and Receiving and Outside Processes;
  • Gaining a strong understanding of the above processes is extremely important to effectively plan time for each manufacturing step and for growth in the role

2. Work with Purchasing to communicate the appropriate raw material and hardware requirements;

3. Work with Production to determine the most efficient machining steps and CNC machining capacity;

4. Work with Programming to create and improve processes and material usage;

5. Update existing work orders to reflect actual results in production;

6. A sense of urgency and ability to effectively prioritize work schedules and one’s own schedule;

7. Ability to hold oneself and others accountable for meeting established goals and objectives

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2 year college education with a focus in advanced manufacturing, manufacturing, or engineering.
  • Work experience in machining, manufacturing, programming or related field preferred
  • Basic exposure to various quality system methodologies to include Lean, 6S, 5 Why’s etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational & time management skills
  • Exposure and basic understanding of project management preferred
  • Work well with diverse groups of people and able to perform tasks and implement plans with minimal supervision
