Quality Assurance Specialist (Entry Level)

SCOPE OF POSITION:

The QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (ENTRY LEVEL) will be trained to be responsible for the development and performance of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) while supporting operational efficiency through the planning and implementation of Continuous Improvement initiatives. The QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (ENTRY LEVEL) will be mentored and trained to assist in the day-to-day organization of the Quality Department, Quality Assurance documentation and data analysis of quality driven operational initiatives. The position will ensure that current quality system policies and procedures are maintained in accordance with company and customer quality requirements, while proposing to management the establishment and implementation of new requirements as needed. The position works closely with Quality Inspectors, Quality Engineering, Production and Management. The position reports directly to the Quality Engineer and Quality Manager.

JOB SPECIFICS:

  • Will work to ensure that the organization’s Quality Management System conforms to customer, internal, AS9100D and regulatory/legal requirements as follows:
    • Oversee product returns.
    • Ensure evaluation of, and reporting on, vendor quality systems.
    • Manage the monitoring, measurement, and review of internal processes.
    • Report to management on the performance of the QMS (e.g., results of quality audits, corrective actions), including the need for improvement.
    • Participate in Management Review Meetings to gain exposure.
    • Responsible for accuracy and timely inspection/calibration of monitoring and measuring equipment.
    • AS9100 audit preparation to include internal Audits (Processes, Procedures, FOD etc.) and reporting for continuous improvement.
    • Keep up on Quality standards, laws, & regulations.
    • Evaluate and analyze the efforts in organizing, documenting and making recommendation to management on quality and operational improvement process
  • Quality Assurance Documentation
    • Organizing, completing and releasing hard copy and electronic data for all documentation related to AS9102 forms, NCMR’s, CAPA, Customer & Vendor returns, Calibration records.
    • Will help collect and report data involved with the company’s Key Performance Indices (KPIs).
    • Work closely with internal and 3rd party advisors to ensure all documentation is appropriately addressed and completed.
  • Support Management’s Operational Improvement efforts through Quality.
    • Assist Management in measuring and driving efficiency and improvement through data collection (ERP) and shop floor confirmations (Gemba walks etc.). Work with Production and Management to effectively capture data through company’s ERP system and other means to continuously measure and improve.
    • Confirming schedules with Production and Management to ensure the company’s KPIs are met and exceeded.
  • When necessary, will be trained to assist inspection (examination) of incoming materials, ensuring that parts meet requirements.
  • Lead by Example and help team effectively meet quality and operational objectives.
  • Effectively communicate with employees and customers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2 years educational experience in Quality, Engineering or Manufacturing. Experience with ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100, as well as GD&T preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task and quickly shift priorities in support of Quality and Production needs.
